At the time of adoption, you must enter into an adoption agreement. The terms and conditions below agree with the terms and conditions. Here is a good example of agreement on dogs, in two different file formats: we care a lot about the welfare of all the animals entrusted to us. It is important to us that they go to a good home. So many of our animals suffered severity or abuse before going to the Ark that we want to make sure that they will go to a good loving home and that they will be happy and well cared for for the rest of their lives. Before letting an animal leave us, we need the user who can convince us that he is able to take care of the minimum care we would expect from an animal. All new owners must sign an agreement when collecting their selected pet. Each of our centres set its own adoption fee, from about $135 for adult dogs to $200 for puppies under six months of age. Although we cannot give away our dogs for free, your adoption fees cover many veterinary costs – such as microchipping and castration – that would normally add up after buying a pet. Your new pooch is chiped, neutered/castrated and fully vaccinated, as well as an ongoing flea and vermifusion treatment. All of this is included in the single adoption tax. Please note that if you already have another dog, you are expected to take it to the Ark before adoption to make sure the animals get along.
If not, it causes anger and confusion for the dog to be adopted when it is to be rendered, disappointment for the new owners and waste valuable time of the employees of the Ark and volunteers. I understand that BFAS reserves the right to repossess the animal if it is not satisfied that it is being properly cared for. We recommend that families rehoming or adopting a dog to create a rehoming agreement to do things officially on the transfer of pet ownership (most states still consider pets to be a „personal property” such as a boat or a car). Your new dog may be nervous as they get used to you and your home, but be patient and don`t worry if there is a bit of hiccups.
